| Information on the JPS-Colors |
|
Many
of our customers did want such a page for sure. Because JPS canceled
direct marketing and sells only to retailers now, he has also changed
his homepage. Therefore we added an information page on JPS-Products to
our website, which will answer the most questions hopefully.
The new JPS-Colors are now
available and can be ordered. We offer the whole range of JPS-Colors
now!
Please notice that not all colors are available jet!
All
colors marked as "sofort

Colors not marked can be ordered , but have eventually long delivery
terms!

are not available jet and should not be ordered at the moment.

New metallic polishing colors now
available!
JPS-Color now offers 15 (!) new metalpigment polishing paints which can
competit with most known colors from other manufacturers! Made on
acrylic basis the colors can be airbrushed very thin and be polished
after drying. They also can be varnished with JPS-Color clear coat
without change in brightness and shine. A problem well know from other
colors.
This colors give you the chance to get the finish on top of your bar
metal jet surface or the chrome shine on your bike or truck without
attaching foils or doing the chemical wizzard!
The JPS metalic
colors are extremely thinnable and last much longer than the usual JPS
paints. You may not use the smallest
nozzle on your airbrush, although the pigments are extremly fine
grained, but the paint may dry fast and block your airbrush then.
Painting by brush is also an option too and will look as good as
airbrushing mostly. After drying polishing can follow as well too.

There are no color
samples for this colors, because they will not be true to the color on
screen at all!

But why the new
paints?
The answer is quit simple. Due to EU-regulations which
make it
necessary to proof that the ingredients aren't harmful for the user the
pigments manufacturer simply changed all pigments. This means that
thousands of pigments need to be exchanged which isn't quite simple,
because the mixture needs to be checked again. An realy expensive job
to do and 20 years of research are gone too!
But pigments cant be changed that easy. Because they are chemical
connections they need to be checked each and adjusted to the other
ingredients to make a high quality paint again, which pleases our
customers high standards. This is much more complicated then thought
and will take a while until done.

What did change with
the new colors?
In useage nothing. The new colors can be used as usual and thinned with
clean water, but should better be thinned with the new thinner! It will
guarantee the color quality when thinned.
The total of different colors has been reduced a little. Due to new
knowledge
from color science in case of the original RLM-colors. Some of the
colors from the RAL-color scale, which developed from the earlier
RLM-color scale, are identical. For that reason some RLM
and RAL colors are the same in color.
To the foreign Federal
Standard and British colors some new, better colors have been added
too. Also a range of new colors from other national color scales are in
preparation ( i.e. Australia, Sweden etc.)
Realy new and interesting is the new package. JPS followed the cutomers
wish for a squeeze
bottle to fill airbrushes easy. The new bottle has a tiny tip to
dropwise dose the color. So it can be dosed exactly to airbrush or
pallet.
The bottle also contains a mixing tool inside which helps to stire up
the paint easiely by shaking.
The new colors can be identified easy by the item-no., which contains 3
digits in the first block instead of only 2 digits on the Classic
Colors!
The last digits on the item-no. of the New Colors are not necessarily
the same as on the Classic Colors for the same kind of color.

JPS will stop producing the Classic
Colors in the known way soon. They them will be deliverd in the 30ml
bottles as well and also will be integrated into the list of New
JPS-colors, so we get only one list in the end.
The Classic paints still available will be on sale for a special price
as long as they last. After that you may look for the same color under
a different Item-No.
The paints are sorted in the shop by color scales (such as RLM,
RAL, FS, ANA etc.). The classic and New paints where put together in
one list now. The Classic paints will be erased from this listing as
soon as sold off and will be availabe afterwards only as New JPS-Paints.

The known JPS paint
can (content 20ml) and the new bottle (content 30ml).
Notice that the item-no. are varying from each other although the color
typ is the same!
So make sure you pick the right one when ordering!

The dosing bottle has a tip that makes
dosing the JPS paint easy.
It helps to place the paint directly into the airbrush cup.
When blocked it can be cleaned easy by use of a needle or removing the
cap and drainig it with thinner. |
Also the content has increased a little (30ml) in the new bottles and
they can be mixed with the "old" colors too!!
So it's worth the new the price, which has increased a little.
Some oft new colors are available now. The rest will follow while the
old colors vanish. We will add them to our webshop soon. Colors
available can be checked be sending an e-mail request.

The colors on display in
the webshop are the "old" ones at the moment and are only available as
long as they last! |
How
to Use:

JPS-acrylic paints
are easy to use. All colours can be thinned with simple water. They
stick to almost any surface, as long as the usual precautions are made.
(degreaseing, primeing).
They are optimised for airbrushing, but can be used with regular
brushes too. Thinning is not necessary when spraypainted. When brushing
the colors apply a second layer to optimise color density.
JPS has the ambition to get as close as possible to the original
colour. Therfore JPS uses the RAL and RLM paint scales.
Because the RAL-scale results in some ways from the RLM-scale there
will be some doubles.

Special Models offers the JPS-acrylic
paints
based on the RLM-scale. So we mostly sell German aircraft modelkits, it
is possible to order the fitting colour for your kit directly!

The
best way mixing small amounts of paint.
Ideal for working with JPS-Colors, because they can be cleaned.
|
|
Special mix
consists of vaccumformed, white Styrene for mixing small amounts of
paints.
Each pallete has 12 cups of 1 cm diameter.
Special mix is
used by figure-modelmakers for mixing small amouts of paint for figure
painting. It can also be used for ageing or detailing.
With Special
mix single colors can be
individually tinted in smallest amounts. This minimizes the paint
needed
and maximizes the tinted color range possible.
Special mixcomes
in a five pieces set and can be used several times, if cleaned after
use.
The use of nitrosolvent /thinner is not recommended because it "eats"
the
plastic. |
