Special Models added a veriety of manufacturers of giant 1/18 scale
display models to its product range.
Besides the superbe 21st Century Toys Display Models we
added also Admiral Toys
to our E-shop range.
Here are some additional information on these excellent Display Models
we could not add to the shop pages, due to limited space.

262-B1a/U1 Nachtjäger "Rote 10"

Available
end of December!
|
This
version of the Me-262 was made for nightfighter missions and had a
second seat in the back for the radar operator and an FuG 218
"Neptun" for reco. The aircraft had had 4 MK108 Machineguns. In this
paintsheme it was stationed at the
"Kommando Welter" of 10./NJG11 at least in Schleswig-Jagel and
conquered by the British Army in May 1945.
Leutnant Kurt Welter was the first pilot ever to have a night victory
on a jetfighter on 12.12.1944!
Welter had had 63 proofen airvictories, 56 of them by
night! 25
of them against 4 engine bombers and 35 against Mosquitos!
On
7.5.1947 Welter died in an car accident. |

Century Toys released its new Me 262 in the A2 Version. The model is
finely engraved, has split prewings and movable flaps, true to the
original alerons and rudders. a nicely replicated gunbay and correct
doors and struts. Also the so called "Wikingerschiffe"
bombeconnectors with 2 bombs and 2 external fueltanks are included. A
special extra are the two JATO rockets included an dthe nicely made
pilot figure with oxygenmask and pistol.
The model comes with the true to the original camouflage sheme and
correct markings and signs on the whole plane. It is a nicely made
model in whole.

The
Me 262 has been the first operational jet aircraft manufactured in
massproduction and it was for sure the most progressive aircraft at the
time.
Put into service to late to be of any importance for the end of WWII,
it showed the way development will go after the war.
The model released by Admiral Toys ist the so called "white eight".
The model has retractable landinggear, movable rudders, detailed
cockpit and wapons bay as well as openable canopy and a pilot figure
included. All insignia are printed on.

Modellers
who miss something on this highly detailed model are free to add more
detail on there own. What is great on these models is they are not
avaliable as kits in this scale at all and would be as expensive
whitout beeing built too.
So all models are made from plastic and be fixed with screws or
superglue, they can be easiely disassambled and converted or detailed
even more!
A
profi modeler will convert this model to a superior masterpiece easiely.
The soldier figures are of the same size like for example the commander
of the Tamiya King Tiger RC-Tank. Which means they are almost the same
scale. Eather 1/16 or 1/18 scale? How ever they can be shown side by
side with other models in 1/16 scale whitout sowing the difference to
much.
The enclosed soldier figures are of high quality in design and painting
and need not to be redone. Who dislikes the moveable armes and legs may
glue them in position and paste the seams with putty.
Most customers will like the model like it comes from the box and who
hasn't the skill or time to modify the model gets a great model for a
great price! |
