The Corsair was the last aircraft type used as a carrier aircraft  during WWII. It flew first in 1940 and became the standard fighter aircraft of the Navy and Marines. Its special design was forced by the necessety to have a strong but short landingear which made it possible to land on carrier vessels without  destroying the propeller by touching ground.  Therefore the Corsair was fitted with gull like wings which also could be folded up to consume less space on carriers.

The Corsair became well known in the Pacific Theater, because of its velocity, strength and unique whispering engine sound. It was called "The Whispering Death" therefore by the japanese Zero pilots.

The shown version ia a late type used at the End of WWII and in Korea by US Marines.

The model has a retractable Landingear with rubber tires, foldable wings, detailed cockpit, two external fuel tanks and an openable canopy. Also a detailed pilot figure is included.

Modellers who miss something on this highly detailed model are free to add more detail on there own. What is great on these models is they are not avaliable as kits in this scale at all and would be as expensive whitout beeing built too.

So all models are made from plastic and be fixed with screws or superglue, they can be easiely disassambled and converted or detailed even more!
A profi modeler will convert this model to a superior masterpiece easiely.

The soldier figures are of the same size like for example the commander of the Tamiya King Tiger RC-Tank. Which means they are almost the same scale. Eather 1/16 or 1/18 scale? How ever they can be shown side by side with other models in 1/16 scale whitout sowing the difference to much.

The enclosed soldier figures are of high quality in design and painting and need not to be redone. Who dislikes the moveable armes and legs may glue them in position and paste the seams with putty.

Most customers will like the model like it comes from the box and who hasn't the skill or time to modify the model gets a great model for a great price!
